Meet Dr. Melanie: The Story Behind Move Well Health

I’m Dr. Melanie, and Move Well Health is my way of reaching more people with the tools and knowledge to live healthier, pain-free lives. My journey with strength training began back in my teens, and it’s been an important part of my life ever since. My experience with training others started in university as a gymnastics coach and as a weight room supervisor and personal trainer at a local community center. These early experiences laid the foundation for my fascination with how the body moves, adapts, and builds strength.


After completing my degree in Sport Science (Kinesiology) at the University of New Brunswick in 1994, I went on to train in both chiropractic and osteopathic care. For over 30 years, I worked with clients in a clinical setting, seeing firsthand how many people were determined to live healthier lives but often didn’t know where to start. Many felt they had to accept discomfort and limitation as part of aging, but I’ve always believed differently. I knew that, with the right approach, people could stay strong, agile, and pain-free at any age.


That’s why I started Move Well Health as a virtual business—to reach beyond the traditional clinic setting and bring my expertise to more people, wherever they are. Through Move Well Health, I’m committed to providing personalized guidance, helping clients build strength, care for their joints, and enjoy a life free of pain. My goal is to empower each person to feel confident in their movement and well-being.


In my practice, I focus on each person’s unique journey, supporting them in everything from managing joint health to creating strength routines that truly fit their lives. I’ve had the privilege of guiding clients through transformations that have helped them regain their confidence and return to the activities they love. Watching people feel stronger, healthier and more capable than they ever imagined is what inspires me every day.
